From Replit to Codex: building as you learn.
The tools change. The need to understand what you’re building stays.
I started Nogal with Replit after trying tools such as v0 and Lovable. Later, I moved development to Codex. This journey is another part of the project I want to document.
Exploring before choosing
Trying different tools gave me space to explore how to turn an idea into an initial version. This article sets out the journey: v0 and Lovable as tools I explored, Replit as the starting point for Nogal’s development and Codex as a later stage.
The product perspective continues
Building with AI still requires decisions about what a product should do and how people should understand it. For Nogal, the thread is the study experience: organising materials, practising and tracking progress.
What I want to share in AI Lab
This is an initial draft of the journey. Future notes can explore specific decisions, describing the problem, the tool used and what I observed. A useful account of an experiment should distinguish what was attempted from what could be verified.
